What is convrt? A private, free file converter online

convrt helps you change file formats for raster images, audio, and video without installing software. You can batch images, adjust quality, resize, and download a ZIP; transcode audio and video with in-browser encoders. It is designed as a no-upload file converter for the default local workflow — your data stays on your device for that path, away from a traditional cloud transcode pipeline.

If you are comparing free online file converters, convrt focuses on a straightforward promise: no account, no subscription wall for the core tool, and transparent local processing (see the homepage for the full story). When you are ready, use the button above to open the file conversion workbench or go straight to a popular preset like PNG to WebP.

More details (optional)

What you can convert (images, audio, and video)
  • Images (raster) — Queue multiple files, adjust resize and quality where it applies, and download results individually or as a ZIP. Common formats include JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, HEIC, TIFF, and many camera RAW types (output may use PNG or another supported format when the browser cannot write the original container).
  • Audio — Transcode in the browser with FFmpeg (e.g. MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC/M4A, Ogg, Opus, and more). Open the audio converter.
  • Video — Convert in the browser; you can use a capped resolution for stability or full resolution if your device can handle it. See the video converter.
Privacy and your files

Conversion is designed to happen on your device using Web APIs and WebAssembly (where used)—not on convrt's servers for the in-browser path.

Files you add live in memory for your current session. Refreshing or closing the tab clears that session.

Common questions about convrt
Are my files uploaded to the cloud when I use convrt?
No. In-browser conversion uses JavaScript on your device. Files are not sent to our servers to be processed for the standard converter paths.
Is convrt really free?
Yes. The core file converter is 100% free forever, with no payment, expiring trial, or account required.
Why do my files disappear after I refresh the page?
For privacy, files are held in memory for your current session only. Refreshing or closing the tab clears the queue.
